Twitter Questions:
First Question: I have read about Vortex and know that it is similar to social media but is decentralized and not censored. My question, how is ownership of our own content is protected on Vortex, and is there any reward system for content creators? And when is it expected to be ready for use?
So, yes, Vortex is a Decentralized Social Media for chatting and sharing various types of content: images, audio, and video. Since censorship on centralized platforms sometimes is very untransparent and questionable nowadays, we want to give all authority of content moderation and labeling into the hands of the community.
Due to the multi-governance model implemented in our blockchain, we have additional governance roles besides validators. Creators can claim the ownership of some pieces of video or audio by reporting the piece of content in a special manner. Thereby, creators interact with arbitraries (second governance role) and resolve their claims. Arbitraries decide whether creators really own a particular piece of content and if they think so — they allow creators to earn rewards giving to this particular piece of content. Regarding the reward system, we focus on creating as many useful monetization tools as possible. People will be able to stake on videos, tip creators, create a referral program, and much much more. All these features are combined with instant payouts to authors. We are planning to release early preview versions in Q1 2021.
Second Question: DEFI space is the hot topic for everyone in crypto space now, what is the tech. features Velas has comparing to Ethereum?
We have a few common things with Ethereum like Solidity support, but in other features, our platform is much more beneficial for developers than Ethereum. For instance, Velas Blockchain will be able to process 50.000+ TPS comparing to 13–20 TPS in Ethereum. Mostly this is allowed due to the AIDPoS consensus we use comparing to Ethereum PoW consensus. DPoS token omics is also much more flexible and rewarding than PoW token omics which is also another advantage of our system. Besides that, we also provide network participants with access to tokenized (in decentralized manner) crypto assets that open the opportunity of sending, receiving, and exchanging any crypto asset (BTC, ETH, ERC-20, etc.) instantly and with nearly no fees. Moreover, from the infrastructural perspective, we provide GPU/CPU transaction acceleration that significantly improves network performance.
Third Question:
a) Velas relies heavily on the use of artificial Intuition in its project What is the reason for the great interest in artificial Intuition and its impact on the future of Cryptocurrency?
b) What future Velas seek for its project and for the crypto world?
a) Velas is the widescale ecosystem of decentralized products built on top of an innovative AI-powered blockchain platform. We build our technology with a focus on scalability, security, and decentralization to solve ubiquitous blockchain trilemma and AI plays a significant role in its process of network operation. This allows the network to dynamically adapt to the OnChain environment, like an increased amount of transactions, attack on a validator and etc.
b) Velas is here to solve today’s problems of the internet that is full of centralization and censorship. Blockchain is perfectly positioned to address that, so the “crypto world” will massively expand when non-crypto people start to migrate from centralized ecosystems to their decentralized alternatives like Velas with Vortex on top.
Fourth Question: Could you please tell me just a little more about the #VLX team and some of their backgrounds? I have personally seen many projects launch with inexperienced team members, and some of those didn’t go so well due to easily avoidable mistakes.
Velas was founded in 2019 by Alex Alexandrov, who is also the CEO of the world’s first and biggest altcoin payment processing platform from 2013 — CoinPayments net. Right now, around 50 people work in Velas all around the globe, besides that, we cooperate with AI laboratories, blockchain companies, and institutions all around the world (you can check our partners on the website). We work with people who are passionate to build something innovative, that could change the future. This is all our team members are on the same page and besides being experts in the industry they are also strong believers in the bright future of the company.
Fifth Question:
a) How VELAS attracts newcomers and maintains its community members for the long term with the project?
b) What is the focus of the team at the moment in terms of development?
c) How do holders of the $ VLX token benefit in the ecosystem? Why is it so attractive and what are the basic requirements to participate?
a) At Velas, we believe that if we create a product that is simultaneously rich in terms of features and is extremely easy to use, newcomers will come inevitably because the existing centralized alternatives are no longer respond to the need of the masses when it comes to the freedom of speech (remember YouTube banning all crypto influencers recently) or resistance to the failure of individual organizations (imagine Facebook shutting down, a lot of people and their families will get affected).
b) At the moment, our biggest focus is around Velas Chain and Vortex (decentralized social media platform).
c) Our VLX tokenomy is basically concentrated around these things:
- Users can stake VLX in order to contribute to the overall network security by selecting credible master nodes and getting rewards for that contribution.
- VLX is used to pay transaction fees.
- VLX will be the main utility token to power the products the Velas team will build on top of the chain.
After completing the Twitter question section, the opportunity was opened for the group members to ask their questions directly, so that the best five questions would be chosen and answered and rewarded.

First Question: How are you planning to promote your project in different countries, wherein English is not spoken well? Do you have a local communities for them to better understand your project?
It is a very good question as we believe the global and diverse community is a must in any project based on decentralization 🙂

Second Question: What is the most ambitious goal of the project? I would appreciate it if you could share with us any upcoming updates? What should the community look for?
The thing that I get a lot of excitement recently is the decentralized custodian mechanism that we started to work on recently. This will let Velas Chain to act as a decentralized wallet to other crypto assets like BTC and ETH and allow nearly free and instant transfers of those assets between the Velas accounts.
Third Question: What is so special about the #Velas network compared to other projects? Can you give some reasons to convince users to choose the network Velas is?
We believe that there are not many teams that focus on both blockchain technology and products that run on top, that is why we perceive Velas first of all as an ecosystem, where users are active daily and not only when the token price moves up or down.
Fourth Question: What is the difference between Velasphere and similar projects in the market that rely on decentralized storage?
Velasphere is not only about storage, it is also about lending/renting CPU and GPU resources
Fifth Question: What is the team’s orientation and development plan for 2020 in the DeFi region, why do you think DeFi, this immature term, has a future? What results do you expect to achieve?
Why is DeFi so popular? Because it became an alternative to centralized financial instruments and banks, where anyone can attend with no permissions. You do not need to trust an agent or a third party if the basic concepts of the blockchain are supported here.
Velas does not position itself as a competitor or a participant, but rather as an open platform for different types of applications, including DeFi. As a good example of it, we got an independent team that launched the Symblox project and is now offering the product to the ones interested in the DeFi space. They chose Velas because they believed that with our tech features, they will be able to achieve better results compared to Ethereum and other chains.
